Senior Backend & Full-Stack Developer

I build custom web services, connect existing systems, and design the backends of applications that have to stay fast and reliable.

01Core capabilities

The tools I use to build, connect, and run software.

Backend & APIs

Server software, login and security, and APIs that stay fast when many people use them at once.

  • NestJS
  • Java Spring Boot

Frontend

Websites and product screens that work well on phones and desktops, and stay easy to change as the product grows.

  • Vue

Mobile & Apps

Android and iPhone apps, including features that need the phone itself rather than just a website.

  • Android (Java)
  • iOS (Swift)

High-Traffic Venue Booking for World Cup Match Days

Problem
Venues needed an accurate seat list, bookings from many people at once, and working payments during World Cup match days — without selling the same seat twice when demand jumped.
Solution
I built the booking system: live seat availability, short holds while people paid, and connections to payment providers, designed for that peak rather than a shop that stays open all year.
Business impact
Busy match days turned into confirmed bookings instead of double-sold seats, failed checkouts, and staff fixing orders by hand.

Enterprise Integration & Client Systems

Problem
An Italian consultancy needed an experienced full-stack developer to help on client systems that were already live, using a mix of Java, Angular, and .NET.
Solution
I worked with OT Consulting Srl on projects for Ricoh and CVS Ferrari — connecting and improving the software they already used, instead of rebuilding everything from scratch.
Business impact
Those client projects kept moving on the systems they already had, with extra senior help instead of a costly rebuild.

NopCommerce Store Builds & Custom Plugins

Problem
Retailers needed complete NopCommerce online stores, plus extra features the platform does not include — without making future updates painful.
Solution
I set up the full websites and built extra NopCommerce plugins on top, covering the product catalogue, checkout, and day-to-day store tools.
Business impact
The shops went live with the extras they needed, and they could still update NopCommerce later.

Automated Replay Cutting for Football Esports

Problem
Operators were cutting goal highlights by hand from live video feeds, too slowly to keep up with football esports broadcasts.
Solution
I built a Go system that took in live NDI video, used computer vision (OpenCV) to spot goals, cut the replay automatically, and played studio animations as soon as a goal was detected.
Business impact
Goal replays reached the broadcast faster, on-screen graphics played at the right moment, and match-day operators spent far less time cutting clips and triggering graphics by hand.

03Working with me

13+ years of senior backend engineering.

  • Banking
  • Strategy games
  • Mobile
  • Commerce

For 13+ years I have worked as a senior backend and full-stack developer. I take software from the first design through to something people can use in production — not just isolated tasks.

I currently work as a Full-Stack Developer at ICON, a Malta company that builds custom software to help local and EU businesses work better. I joined in June.

Before that, about nine years were in banking, inside an outsourcing team serving a high-profile Italian bank. I worked on their internal systems: core software that has to stay accurate, connected, and working every day.

That was followed by four years at Dorado Games, which then became part of Twin Harbour Interactive. I worked as a backend and application developer on the Supremacy franchise — Supremacy 1914, Call of War 1942, and Supremacy World War III — as lead mobile app developer, on the World War III backend, and building the backend for playsupremacy.com.

Freelance work has included live venue booking for World Cup match days, automatically cutting football esports replays and triggering studio graphics, and a large amount of NopCommerce: building full online stores and extra features for sites such as xpert.mt, techstoreltd.com, and abprojects.com.

I have also worked with OT Consulting Srl, an Italian consultancy, on client systems for Ricoh and CVS Ferrari using Java, Angular, and .NET. I deliver reliably, design systems clearly, and communicate honestly.
